Join us for an insightful session on the groundbreaking advancements showcased in Nephio Release 2. Our demonstration will unveil the seamless orchestration of O-RAN Network Functions (O-DU, O-CU-CP, O-CU-UP) and 3GPP Release 16 5G Core Network Functions (AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, UDR, AUSF, UDM), using the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance implementation. Building upon this foundation, we will extend the setup by incorporating a physical O-RU, not managed by Nephio, creating a comprehensive environment. Witness the real-world scenario as we establish an end-to-end call Over The Air (OTA) using 5G User equipment. Dive into the technical intricacies with a setup description encompassing three deployment sites or Nephio workload clusters—Core, Regional, and Edge. Each site is a Single Node Openshift (SNO) cluster, interconnected through a Backhaul switch, while the Edge cluster is seamlessly linked using a FrontHaul switch, offering PTP support to O-DU and O-RU. This session promises to unravel the future of network orchestration and interconnectivity, providing a glimpse into the cutting-edge technology shaping the telecommunications landscape.
